Nighttime prowler in Owen Sound

Police in Owen Sound are warning residents to make sure all doors are locked.

Officers responded to a neighbourhood in the 600 block of 26th Street West early Tuesday morning after a resident alerted police that a man was checking doors to homes.  Police searched the area but did not find the man.

Several hours later, an Owen Sound resident from that same area reported that two iPads were missing. The iPads had been sitting inside the home, adjacent to an unlocked exterior door.

Police are reminding residents to secure all doors and ground floor windows, especially before turning in for the night. They are also encouraging residents to call police when they see someone or something that they feel is suspicious, day or night.

You can contact the Owen Sound Police Service at (519) 376-1234 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477(TIPS).    A secure web-tip can also be submitted through Crime Stoppers at www.cstip.ca.
