Mosquito trapped near Meaford tests positive for West Nile virus

A mosquito trapped by the Grey-Bruce Health Unit near Meaford has tested positive for West Nile virus.

The Grey Bruce Health Unit will continue trapping mosquitoes on a weekly basis and have them tested at a laboratory. The health unit would like to remind residents not to touch traps if they encounter them.

So far this year, there have been no confirmed cases of West Nile virus in humans in the areas of Grey and Bruce counties.
