There's been a delay in the completion of the Mill Creek Bridge at the eastern edge of Port Elgin.
Erosion damage from a broken water main and unforeseen challenges with the construction process have lengthened the time to complete the work.
The project includes the replacement of the super-structure of the bridge on Bruce Rd. 17 and the additions of the sidewalk and improved lighting.
The County of Bruce is working with the bridge contractor and engineering consultant to finish the project as quickly as possible.
The completion date has been extended until the end of August.
