Lucknow area farmer Tony McQuail led a small group of protesters in front of Huron-Bruce MP Ben Lobb's office in Goderich Monday afternoon.
McQuail explained the protest was part of a national day of action to protest the Federal government's spending of $4.5-billion to buy the Kinder Morgan assets related to the pipeline through BC.
McQuail says aside from the government bailing out a private business from Texas, he also maintains it's paying way too much and inviting further legal costs down the road.
McQuail adds, while he may be sympathetic with the environmental concerns of people living along the route of the pipeline, his concern as a resident of Ontario, is what the Canadian government is doing with taxpayers money - money that could be better spent on things like health care, the environment, clean drinking water or housing.
