A large portion of the city of Stratford lost power early Tuesday morning.
Hydro One reported thousands of customers were without power, although the cause was not listed
The outage knocked out supply to the city of Stratford.
Stratford police say power returned to the south end of the city, but the north and west ends could be a few hours later.
The outage also affected West Perth and Mitchell, Perth East, Sebringville and stretches all the way to New Hamburg and Tavistock. A number of schools in Stratford and surrounding areas had two-hour bus delays because of the lack of power at the schools.
There were brief power interruptions in parts of Huron County just before 6am.
