The mayor of Goderich hosted his annual Mayor's Lunch Thursday.
Kevin Morrison outlined a number of achievements in the town in the past four years, such as the harbour expansion, affordable housing, the recreational upgrades to the Agricultural Park, and the construction of the new hotel.
"When you take a look at building permits that we've done in 2017 compared to 2016, 2016 was just a little over $9-million and 2017 was $18.2-million and who knows what's going to happen when it comes to 2018 with the Fusion Homes project and other initiatives," stated Morrison.
But he said he felt creating an overall culture that encouraged partnerships with others was more important than single projects and that included being open to innovative ideas as well as being open for business.
