An armed man in Fergus was taken into custody Tuesday night, after several hours of negotiations with the OPP.
Shortly after 8pm, the OPP responded to a disturbance at a residence on Herrick St. N in Fergus.
A man brandished a weapon inside the residence and refused to cooperate with officers.
An OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit along with the Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit were called to the scene.
After several hours of negotiation, a 32-year-old man was taken into custody without incident.
The investigation is continuing and charges are pending.
