Police Investigating Two Arson Incidents In Harriston

Police are looking for a suspect after two fires were deliberately set in the Town of Harriston.

The Ontario Provincial Police say on March 31 shortly before 1:55am, someone set fire to an outdoor patio at Harry Stone's Bar and Grill.  Employees saw the fire and quickly extinguished it before calling police.

Not long after, a resident on Marklane St. awoke to a fire alarm and discovered that a basement couch had been set on fire.  Police say someone broke in through a basement window and set the fire, which the resident put out with water and a fire extinguisher.

Following an investigation, police believe the two arsons may be linked.

Anyone with information regarding these incidents is asked to contact the Wellington County OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
