Collision In Whiteout Closes Part Of Blyth Rd.

Huron County OPP have closed a section of Blyth Rd. between Blyth and Auburn after a crash involving a police cruiser and a transport truck.

It happened in whiteout conditions just before 1pm Tuesday afternoon.

Police say the Huron OPP officer was patrolling eastbound on Blyth Rd. near Dutch Line when his Chevrolet Tahoe collided with an eastbound transport truck. A third motorist managed to avoid hitting the cruiser, by driving into the ditch.

The male officer was taken to a local hospital with a minor injury.

The other two drivers weren't hurt.

Blyth Rd. (County #25) is currently closed in Auburn at Donnybrook Line and in Blyth at London Rd.

Also closed: Huron Rd. (Hwy. 8) between Goderich and the west edge of Clinton and London Rd. (County 4) from Blyth to Clinton
