Goderich Presented Commemorative Scroll From Dutch-Canadians Remember As One

Members of the Dutch-Canadians Remember as One Committee presented Goderich council with a commemorative scroll at Monday night's council meeting.

Co-Chair Jim Rutledge explains the scroll contains the names of 20 Huron County men who lost their lives in the liberation of the Netherlands in the Second World War and now rest in cemeteries in the Netherlands.

The scroll was signed by Dutch Princess Margriet and her husband when they visited Goderich last summer.

Rutledge says in presenting the scroll to council they're asking that it be displayed in a prominent place in the town hall.
