'Campaign School For Women' Interested In Local Politics

Midwestern Ontario needs more women in politics.

There is an upcoming opportunity for women to learn about the process of engaging in politics and making a difference locally. 2018 is an election year for municipal councils and school boards.

A "Campaign School For Women" is scheduled for Saturday, November 4 at the Bluewater District School Board offices in Chesley.

The day includes experienced local presenters in areas of running a successful campaign, using traditional and social media, public speaking and debating, and the role of a school board trustee.

To register for the day, go to the website www.runjanerun.ca, or call Pat Farrar 519-376-1542.

The cost is $20, and it runs from 9:30am to 3:30pm.

The keynote speaker is Brenda Halloran, a former two-term mayor of Waterloo with a varied career and community service resume.
