Fire Damages Kincardine Home

The cause of a house fire in Kincardine Friday remains under investigation.

Fire and Emergency Services were dispatched to a structure fire on Wieck Blvd. in Kincardine around 6:30am Friday morning.

When firefighters arrived, they found smoke coming from the garage. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the garage with no damage to the home.

The occupants had working smoke alarms and were able to safely escape the home.

The fire caused approximately $20,000 in damages and is not considered suspicious.

"This emergency demonstrates once again the importance of working smoke alarms," says Fire Chief Kent Padfield. "Smoke alarms and a family emergency escape plan are imperative to protect your family when a fire starts."
