The mayor of Arran-Elderslie has his sights set on the warden's position in Bruce County.
Paul Eagleson announced during Thursday's county council session that he will be putting his name forward when the annual election for warden is held in December.
With Bruce County celebrating its 150th anniversary this year, Eagleson predicts 2018 will be a much quieter year.
He says he would continue to push ahead with the SWIFT fibre optic network proposal, as well as the proposed expansion of natural gas into the southern portion of the county.
"The fibre [optic] network we need to continue to pursue and of course, on the sidebar, I hope the Bruce [natural] gas thing will get happening," says Eagleson. "But there's so many things happening now that I just want to see business as usual."
If elected, it would be Eagleson's second stint as warden; he last held the position in 1995 when he was also the reeve of Tara.
No other candidates on the eight-member county council have come forward so far.
