While the "Kick-Off to Canada Day" Weekend ball game is still a go, the Mitchell Mets have announced that the Venezuelan national team is not taking part.
In a Facebook post, the Mets announced the team is not coming to Ontario prior to the WBSC Men's Softball World Championship in Whitehorse.
The Mets will be determining this week what team they will be hosting on Thursday, June 29th.
Milverton was also planning to host the team from Venezuela over the Canada Day weekend along with the men's teams from Australia and the Dominican Republic. No word on how that event will be affected.
