Owen Sound Wants To Attract Mellennipreneurs

The City of Owen Sound is launching a new program to attract Millennipreneurs.

Local ambassadors and community champions will act as hosts to allow qualified millennials with an entrepreneurial spirit to test drive the city for a weekend.

With numerous communities vying to attract GTA residents who have been priced out of the housing market, the Owen Sound campaign will target young entrepreneurs who want to build a business in a more affordable location.

Organizers say Owen Sound is authentic, engaging, with cultural and recreations opportunities.

City Manager Wayne Ritchie says the city is turning a challenge into an opportunity with the unique approach of offering local hosts.

The campaign will run from August to October 2017, and include a website, and social media.

The city has retained BC Hughes Inc, Tourism Development, Management and Marketing, to assist with the program.

“The goal for this campaign is to attract determined, strong people who will bring value to the Owen Sound community,” says Chris Hughes of BC Hughes.
