Owen Sound Students Create Graffiti Art For Downtown

Downtown Owen Sound will be the scene of a unique art project Wednesday.

Under the guidance of a local graffiti artist, Grade 6 students will create spray paint murals that will adorn a portion of the construction fencing around the Owen Sound City Hall renovation project.

The graffiti art will celebrate Canada's 150th and Owen Sound's 160th birthdays.

Billy Goodkat and the students will be painting the murals from 10am until noon on Wednesday under the overhang of the Owen Sound Farmers' Market.

The murals will be hung next week, ahead of Owen Sound Day on June 30.

This temporary art project is sponsored by the Owen Sound DIA in collaboration with Owen Sound Artist’s Co-op.
