Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority Conserves

The general manager of the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority says they were able to reduce the organization's utility costs by about 20% last year, simply by reviewing some of their current practices.

Brian Horner says the savings were noticed by one of their board members at their March meeting.

Horner says it started by switching providers for their telephone service and continued with the efforts of a green team they developed to look at energy conservation.

He points out it was never one big item, but a combination of smaller practices and attention to detail that helped in reducing costs.
