Wingham Police Employee Celebrates 40 Years of Service

A Wingham woman was honoured at the Ontario Women in Law Enforcement awards banquet in Mississauga on the weekend.

Pat Fraser received a 40-year award.

Ontario Women in Law Enforcement was celebrating 20 years of supporting women in policing, and presented several 25, 30 and 35-year awards - but Fraser was the only one presented with the 40-year award.

Fraser started with the Wingham Police Service in May of 1977 and has conducted duties such as parking enforcement officer, reception, court preparation, court security and as the records clerk.

She has worked for three police chiefs in Wingham throughout her career, and indicated on the weekend that she has no intention of retiring.
