The deadline to sign up as a member of the federal Progressive Conservative Party is Tuesday.
Members will be able to choose from 14 candidates who are seeking the PC Leadership.
Joseph Angolano, the vice president of Mainstreet Research, has been tracking the race via the iPolitics Conservative Leadership Tracker. He says eligible candidates should not forget about agricultural regions of the country.
He says former Conservative prime ministers like Stephen Harper and Brian Mulrooney both had great success in keeping rural-minded voters united under the Conservative banner.
