Multiple-Vehicle Crash In Owen Sound Leads To Charges

Owen Sound police have charged two men for street racing offences after a multi-vehicle collision.

Police say the crash occurred on February 17 and closed the 10th St. hill for most of the day.

Two men were airlifted to Toronto and London for treatment, while other victims were treated in Owen Sound. One of the airlifted men remains in a Toronto hospital where he is showing signs of improvement, but remains in serious condition. The other man has been released from hospital.

The drivers of a blue KIA and of a red Chevrolet are charged with criminal negligence by street racing causing bodily harm, and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle by street racing causing bodily harm.

The Kia driver faces two counts of each of those charges, plus a charge of failing to stop at the scene of a collision.
