Owen Sound Man Charged After Pulling Knife

Police in Owen Sound have charged a man with brandishing a knife.

Officers responded to a complaint from a man in the downtown area around 12:30pm Sunday.

Owen Sound police Sgt. Ted Kitto said the complainant told officers that he and the suspect were walking along 2nd Ave East when they began arguing over money.    The suspect suddenly pressed a knife against his chest and threatened to use it, according to the complainant.   Police found the suspect hiding in a nearby building and arrested him without incident.

A 20-year-old man will face a bail hearing Monday.   He is charged with uttering threats, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose and assault with a weapon.
