Bears in Blue Raises nearly $20,000

The Owen Sound Attack raised just under $20,000 in support of men's prostate cancer research with last Saturday's Bears in Blue event.

The Canadian cancer society announced the fundraising total today.

The team wore special Bears in Blue tuxedo jerseys during their 5-3 win over the Mississauga Steelheads November 26. The jerseys were auctioned off. There was also a silent auction, bucket pass and chuck-a-puck.

The Attack have raised more than $239,000 since partnering with the Canadian Cancer Society in 2008.
