Gowing Pleased With Two-Year Warden's Term

Huron County's outgoing warden is pleased with the progress the county has made on a number of issues over the past two years.

Paul Gowing says one of those issues is the term of office for the warden, and he was the first warden in Huron to serve a two-year term.  Gowing says it would have been very frustrating to step down after one year and have to leave so many things un-done.

Gowing adds the "priorities exercise" at the start of the year was huge in making it possible to manage a number of projects and the focus on agriculture in the past year is a perfect lead-in to the 2017 IPM in Walton.

Looking forward to the next two years, Gowing believes completing the facilities review is a key issue for the county and they have to choose between consolidating their buildings and office space, or having several satellite offices throughout the county.

Central Huron Mayor Jim Ginn is the new Huron County warden for 2017-18.
