OneCare Announces Meals On Wheels Expansion

With the support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation, OneCare announced the expansion of their Meals On Wheels program in Clinton Friday.

The service delivers hot meals to seniors and those with health issues who need them, and the expansion will eventually allow OneCare to reach all across Huron County. Executive Director Kathy Scanlon says having local politicians and Trillium on their side means a lot.

"We are so blessed to have the support we have from our community, from our local politicians, and Trillium. That's one of the things that has really supported us in doing what we do is knowing we have that support behind us."

MPP Lisa Thompson was on hand to help celebrate the service that deilvers hot meals to seniors and people with health issues. Thompson says the commitment by the Ontario Trillium Foundation to expand the program is excellent.

"The investment of the Ontario Trillium Foundation in expanding the capacity of Meals On Wheels facilitated through OneCare is just phenomenal for the entire county of Huron, especially when we hear real life examples where people are losing their local grocery stores."
