Owen Sound Hospital Foundation Annual Campaign Starts

People in the Owen Sound area are being asked to think of their local hospital when it comes to gift giving.

The Owen Sound Regional Hospital Foundation's Christmas fundraising campaign is underway.

The goal this year is $320,000. Money raised will buy the Owen Sound hospital automated medication cabinets.

Foundation executive director Paul Wietendorf says the equipment ensures safe and accurate drug dispensing.

He says they depend on the community to ensure their equipment is state of the art.

"This was identified as a high priority this year for the hospital amongst many other items that are needed so we're really turning to our community again to ensure we have a well equipped hospital," says Weitendorf.

He adds the people of Grey Bruce always support their fundraising campaigns.

"Last year was our best Christmas campaign in five years and I'd like to thank everyone who supported us it was a wonderful campaign last year and we're hoping for the same this year," says Weitendorf.

The Owen Sound hospital's fundraising campaign is mainly by direct mail or people can donate on line.
