Wellington North Asked To Consider Off-Leash Dog Park

A Mount Forest woman wants Wellington North to expand it walking trails and establish an off-leash dog park.

Jillian Desroche told Wellington North council that other communities, such as Hanover and Fergus, have successful dog parks. She said the $30,000 cost of the dog park in Hanover was completely covered by fundraising.

Council made no commitment, saying Wellington North is just headed into the budget process and also starting into a recreation master plan review.

The recreation master plan might consider how and where the municipality can accommodate an off-leash dog park.
