Huron County Seek Consultant's Help In Facilities Review

Huron County staff advised county council this week they've reached the point in their facilities review that they need the help of a consultant.

C-A-O Brenda Orchard explains they have several options including consolidating all of their office space into one stand-alone building and should they continue to maintain office space in Goderich and in Clinton or would there be advantages in building a new building that was more energy-efficient and space-efficient. Orchard says staff has collected a lot of data that will influence the decision but now feel they need the advice of a consultant to help them use that information along with assessing future needs to make the best decision.

Orchard adds all decisions regarding selling the Registry Building and leasing the Planning Building on Napier Street after MPAC moves out at the end of the year have been put on hold so that everything is on the table when the consultants consider possible options.
