Rural Talks To Rural Conference Opens In Blyth

The first Rural Talks to Rural Conference opened Wednesday in Blyth.

It's attracted nearly 200 delegates from across North America and Europe.

Project Director Smith says for the most part, they're people who are already doing things in their communities and want to hear about projects and ideas they can take back home with them.

Smith adds one of the exciting things about a conference like this is that the ideas people bring to the event are things that can be implemented in Huron County.

One example he points to is a group from Europe who have learned to build a theatre in a day, and they're going to work with an Amish group and demonstrate the skill by building a miniature theatre at noon on Thursday.

The Rural Talks to Rural Conference wraps up Friday.
