Walkerton Hawks forward Lauchlin Elder was selected 22nd overall to play for the Georgia Swarm of the National Lacrosse League.
In a tweet Tuesday night, Elder thanked his family and friends and added he was "excited to see what the future brings..."
Elder hails from Owen Sound and is 21 years old. He first played for the Walkerton Hawks in 2012/2013.
Elder played Junior A Lacrosse with the Burlington Chiefs. As a defencemen he played in 20 games scoring 15 goals and four assists. He also played one Major Lacrosse game with Oakville, scoring one goal.
