Owen Sound Police Cracking Down Through Traffic Campaign

Owen Sound police are currently in the middle of a traffic enforcement campaign on area streets and roadways in an effort to crack down on various driving infractions.

Police say they have been focusing on distracted driving, which is still a big problem on many roads and highways throughout the province and across the country. They are also targeting drivers for failure to obey posted traffic signs, and heavy trucks that aren't complying with various road restrictions.

Since the campaign began on Monday, police say they have laid a total of 17 charges so far.

Those charges relate to the following infractions:

  • Failing to stop for a red light
  • Failing to wear a seat belt
  • Distracted driving
The Owen Sound Police Service Traffic Enforcement Campaign runs until Friday.
