Police say the women were stopped in Hanover on Saturday. Upon a search of their vehicle, police allege 48 bottles of booze were discovered. It's not yet clear whether the booze was stolen from multiple LCBO locations.

Police also recovered more items stolen from other stores and believe they came from numerous locations across Midwestern Ontario.

Total value of the stolen items is pegged at over $3,000.

The names of the accused have not been released by police.

Both the Wingham Police Service and West Grey Police Service assisted in the investigation, which remains ongoing.
