Mount Forest Gets New Buggy Lane at North End

Mount Forest is going to be a little safer for Mennonites using horse and buggy, thanks to the Wellington North Safe Community Committee.

The committee spearheaded an effort to build a laneway exclusively for buggies into the No Frills grocery store, avoiding the need for them to travel on Highway 6 at the north end of Mount Forest.

Spokesman Gary Williamson said the existing situation on the highway is "an accident waiting to happen".

The plan is to also create non-highway access to the new Canadian Tire Store, TSC and Home Building Centre at the north end of Mount Forest.
