Separate Crashes Send Three People To Hospital In Owen Sound

Three people had to be taken to hospital following two separate crashes in Owen Sound.

The Owen Sound Police Service says on Wednesday around around 8am, two vehicles collided at the intersection of 4th Ave. E and 8th St. Both vehicles sustained significant damage and had to be towed from the scene.

The female driver of one of the vehicles was taken to hospital as a precaution.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 55-year-old Owen Sound-area man, has been charged with failing to yield to traffic.

Police say the second crash occurred around 1pm when an eastbound vehicle attempted to turn from 10th St. onto 9th Ave. W., and collided with a westbound vehicle. Both vehicles were seriously damaged and both drivers were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

A 76-year-old Owen Sound woman is now charged with failing to afford reasonable opportunity to avoid collision while making a turn.
