Palmerston School's French Immersion At Risk

Wellington North will support a plea from parents trying to save the French Immersion program at Palmerston Public School.

The program has been in operation for 40 years, but the Upper Grand District School Board will be deciding in May on recommendations to put limits on the program.

There are 37 students in french immersion at Palmerston Public School this year, but one recommendation calls for a cap on the number of students at 25.

Caroline Paquette of Arthur says she and her family would not have moved to the community and bought a business, if not for the French Immersion program at Palmerston Public School.
