Company Vehicles the Focus of Thieves

It appears thieves have been targeting vehicles in and around the Mitchell area.

Perth County OPP received a number of calls late last week from residents in Mitchell to say that their company vehicles had been broken into sometime between 11:30pm Thursday (April 14) night and 6am Friday (April 15) morning.

The targeted areas include homes on William Street, Park Lane, Sylvia St. and Sunset Drive.

Perth County OPP Constable Kees Wijnands says it appears the suspects targeted work or company vehicles.

"Of course, with these type of vehicles, the crooks know that in these vehicles there are going to be tools and there are going to be valuable pieces of equipment or in this case, they were after some electronics," says Constable Wijnands.

The stolen items include a black DELL Latitude E6430 laptop computer, small hand tools, an Apple iPad (silver in colour) and a Milwaukee Hole Hawg Drill set.

Residents are reminded to lock all vehicles and keep any valuables out of sight.

Anyone with information pertaining to these break-ins is asked to call the Perth County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
