Howick Council has approved a plan to adjust ice rates after comparing theirs to other facilities.
Prime time rentals will go up 3.7% to $140/hr.
However, broomball and birthday rentals will decrease 10% to $90/hr.
Spokesman Eric McDougall reports to council those prices would brings costs in line with current school rates, and could create new interest in using the arena.
Holiday rates would increase by 25% to $175/hr to compensate for staff wages. There is would be a minimum book of three hours during holidays in prime time.
