Fatal Crash On Hwy. 10 Involving Horse-Drawn Carriage

Grey County OPP are currently investigating a fatal collision on Hwy. 10 between Road 180 and 190 in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.

Early reports confirm around 9:30 Sunday morning, a Pontiac Montana mini-van was involved in a collision with a horse-drawn carriage carrying nine people. Both vehicles were travelling southbound on Hwy. 10, between Dundalk and Flesherton.

Grey Highlands Fire Department, Grey County and Dufferin County Emergency Services assisted at the scene.

One of the passengers from the horse-drawn carriage was killed in the crash, while another has been airlifted to hospital with life threatening injuries.

The two occupants of the mini-van suffered minor injuries.

Hwy. 10 was closed between Grey Rd. 180 and Grey Rd. 190 while emergency crews were at the scene, but it has since been reopened.

The investigation is in the early stages and no further information is available at this time.
