Builders To Begin New Addition For Sacred Heart In Mildmay Soon

The Bruce Grey Catholic District School Board will share its plans for the future of Sacred Heart School in Mildmay at a meeting on Tuesday night.

The board eliminated excess capacity by closing one building, and moving all students to the senior facility.

Director Jamie McKinnon says construction will begin soon on a new addition to the school to meet the needs of primary grades. He says they'll create innovated primary learning spaces.

He adds the library currently housing primary students will revert back to a library.

The project is expected to be completed next September.

Students will continue to be taken to the junior site playground for recess, but McKinnon says they are well supervised.
