Cullitons Take the Lead in Series with Sugar Kings

Stratford took a 4-0 lead in the first period en route to a 7-3 win over Elmira in Game 3 of their GOJHL Conference Semifinal.

The Cullitons now lead the series 2-1.

Hayden Broomhead scored two back-to-back goals, 3 minutes apart, to end the first period.

Zac Coulter put the Sugar Kings on the board in the opening minute of the second period. Tyson Baker answered for Stratford on the shorthanded goal assisted by Brock Heshka and Deven Kropf.

The Sugar Kings and Cullitons would trade goals in the third with Elmira's Jeff Jordan scoring first in the frame at 2:53. Kropf answered for Stratford less than two minutes later. Ryan Maksymyk fired one into the Culliton's net at 11:21. Jack Scanlan scored the games final goal on an empty Sugar Kings net at 17:53.

Jonathan Reinhart took the loss allowing 5 goals on 34 shots. He was replaced in the third by Liam Devine who make 3 saves on 4 goals.

Stratford's Alexander Brooks-Potts stopped 24 shots to earn the victory.

Kropf and Tyson Baker each had a goal and three assists for a total of four points.
