Real Estate Sales Still Strong In Southern Georgian Bay Region

The president of the Southern Georgian Bay Association of Realtors is predicting this year could be even stronger for home sales than last year.

Kevin Woodham reports home sales across his region soared again last month, while the inventory of unsold homes continues to shrink.

Home sales in the SGBAR's western region were up almost 40% on a year-over-year basis to 159 units last month.   That was the best February on record for the western region, which includes Meaford, Grey Highlands, the Blue Mountains, Collingwood and Wasaga Beach.

"The level of market tightness we’re seeing right now is almost unprecedented," says Woodham. "It's hard to see how we’ll avoid another round of big price increases this year."
