The Run 4 A Reason campaign reached a successful end on Saturday.
Jared Adams, who ran 10 km for 100 days straight, raised money for youth health programs with Kincardine Big Brothers and Sisters. He ran the final run Saturday at 8:30am starting and ending at the Kincardine bowling alley.
Adams spoke about why he chose to partner with Big Brothers and Sisters to use his running for good.
"They were the perfect organization to do this with. I started this as a personal challenge for myself, and then when I wanted to do something good with it, they were the best choice," he says. "They have been in the community for so long and mentor youth and are dedicated to teaching healthy lifestyles and nutrition, which I wanted to promote through this as well."
Many local runners came out early in the morning over the 100-day campaign, and donated money to the cause.
"I'm really happy over how well it went. It was quite a journey, it had its challenges being in the winter, but the support was amazing and I want to maybe try something else similar to this in the future," says Adams.
Adams says he doesn't know yet just how much was raised during the campaign, but says it has been far beyond what he initially thought possible.
