Palmerston's Norgan Theatre Almost Out of Debt

The municipally-owned Norgan Theatre in Palmerston may soon be out of debt.

In 2007 the organization borrowed $177,000 from Minto to get the theatre back up and running, after it was forced to close with structural problems.

Since that time, with a lot of help from the Palmerston Lion’s Club, the Norgan has steadily paid back the loan.

Minto council learned this week that the last of the loan may be paid off by the end of this year.

The theatre, which is run by volunteers, shows first rate movies as well as hosts live entertainment events.
