Saugeen Shores Police Charge 3 in Crime Caper

Saugeen Shores police have arrested three people with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Police say a 2012 pick up truck idling outside the post office in Dundalk was stolen on January 20th.

Police say license plates were stolen from a vehicle in Owen Sound the next day.

The following day, a number of items were stolen from Walmart in Port Elgin, including two laptops.

The stolen vehicle was  abandoned after a collision on a side road in Saugeen Township.

Police were called the scene by a citizen, and then located three suspects walking toward a Southampton motel.

Police have charged a 25 year old Barrie man, a 23 year old Hanover man, and a 17 year old female from Kincardine in connection with the stolen vehicle and theft from Walmart.

The 25 year old male is charged with:

Theft of a motor vehicle, Dangerous Driving,  Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 (motor vehicle), Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 (3 counts), Possession of a credit card, Fail to comply with recognizance (2 counts), Possession of a controlled substance – Schedule I

The 23 year old male is charged with:

Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 (motor vehicle),  Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 (3 counts),  Possession of a stolen credit card,  Fail to comply with recognizance,  Possession of a controlled substance – Schedule I

The 17 year old female youth is charged with:

Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 (motor vehicle),  Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 (3 counts),  Possession of a stolen credit card,  Possession of a controlled substance – Schedule I

 

The 25 year old male had arrest warrants issued by Halifax Police and Grey County OPP for similar offences including vehicle thefts.
