Pelham and Mooretown International Silver Sticks this Week

Teams are gearing up for two International Silver Stick tournaments that begin this week.

The Pelham International Silver Stick begins on Thursday and features three local teams, two from Mitchell.

The Mitchell Meteors Bantam team advanced to the International Silverstick with a 3-1 win over Lincoln at the Wellesley/St. Clements Regional Silver Stick.

The Mitchell Meteors PeeWee team also won their final at the Wellesley/St. Clements Regional Silver Stick, downing Newmarket 4-1.

The St. Marys Rock booked their ticket to Pelham with a 5-1 win over the Penetang Flames at the Collingwood Regional Silver Stick.

Games start at 7 a.m. when a team from Denver Colorado takes on the Pelham Panthers.

Also starting this week is the Mooretown International Silver Stick.

The South Bruce Blades Midget C team is the only local team competing. They topped Blyth/Brussels 2-1 at the Wingham Regional Midget Silver Stick to advance to the international tournament.

South Bruce is in action at 3:00 p.m. Thursday against the Tavistock Titans.
