Police have taken a man into custody after a ten-hour long standoff in South Bruce Peninsula.

The Ontario Provincial Police says on Sunday around 4:30am, officers responded to the Chesley Lake area after receiving a report of a man who had barricaded himself inside a residence.

Two other occupants were able to leave the residence safely.

Police set up containment around the area and after almost 11 hours,  at 3:15pm, a 47-year-old man surrendered to police without incident.
