Perth County OPP's Festive Ride Program has already resulted in charges against motorists for a variety of offences. So far, the OPP have set up 18 different RIDE checks throughout the county. Officers were checking a large number of vehicles. A check near Sebringville ended with a 20-year-old Welland woman facing impaired driving charges and a 45-year-old Huron East Man was charged with impaired after being stopped at a ride program north of Listowel. Officers charged a 27-year-old West Perth motorist with possession of marijuana. Two other vehicles stopped at separate checks, had passengers in possession of open liquor. RIDE [Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere] programs will continue through January 2nd.
