Chocolates Hand Dipped By Trudeau Auctioned Off in Stratford

A box of chocolates dipped by Prime Minister designate Justin Trudeau has been auctioned off in support of the Stratford Perth Animal Welfare Centre.

Bidding closed at noon on the auction, with the final bid at $450.

Trudeau also signed the box of chocolates during his visit last week to Chocolate Barr's Candies in Stratford last week.

The auction was held throughout the morning on the Facebook page of Animal Welfare Centre Co-chair Eddie Mathews.

A group of community volunteers hope to raise over a $1 million for a new Animal Welfare Centre on Griffith Road.

The current Stratford Perth Humane Society is almost 40 years old and no longer meets the needs of the growing community.
