A.B.C.A. Board Approves Draft 2016 Budget

The Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority is ready to submit next year's budget to its member municipalities.

General Manager Brian Horner says the board has approved a budget with a two per cent increase.

Horner explains they had been asked to come in with an increase of two per cent or less, and their starting point was around five per cent. Staff took that back and eliminated nearly $36,000 to get down to two per cent.

Horner adds at two per cent, they won't have to cut any staff or programs or services that they regularly offer.

The budget will now be sent out to the Ausable Bayfield member municipalities for approval or comment and then come back to the board for final approval.
