Marketing the Bayfield Arena is paying off.
Both revenues generated and hours-of-use have gone up since the Bayfield Arena Community Partners Association stated promoting the municipal facility.
Association President Ron Keys explains they were officially asked to start in June of 2014 but actually starting marketing the arena in 2013 because it was clear there was a problem.
Revenues have gone up from $38,000 in 2012 to a projection of just under $78,000 this year.
Keys adds the increased revenue doesn't reflect the increase in users because about $20,000 a year of use is actually subsidized by the municipality of Bluewater.
He also points out projected use of the upstairs community centre has dropped back to 2013 numbers, which is surprising since the original concern was use of the arena.
