Driver Seriously Injured In St. Marys Area Crash

A two-vehicle crash near St. Marys Tuesday afternoon resulted in serous injuries for one driver.

Perth County OPP were called about 3:45 p.m. to Highway 7 east of James Street South.

Initial investigation revealed that an eastbound car had crossed over into the westbound lane, striking the rear wheels of a westbound delivery truck.

The truck driver saw the car drifting into his lane and tried to move out of the way.

Police say roads were wet at the time of the crash.

The female car driver was cut from her vehicle by members of the St.Marys Fire Department and transported by air ambulance to a London hospital with major injuries.

The truck driver did not sustain injuries as a result of the collision.
